Culturally Attuned Teaching Toolkit Micro-Certificate

I led the design and development of this self-paced micro-certificate, created to support faculty in building culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices. Developed as part of Georgian College’s professional development offerings, the toolkit was hosted by the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Academic Excellence and aligned with institutional equity goals.

Key Contributions

Course Design and Development

  • Led instructional design and content development through all project phases

  • Created a modular learning structure that helped faculty apply culturally attuned strategies

  • Ensured alignment with institutional DEI priorities and current teaching practices

Collaborative Content Creation

  • Conducted interviews with faculty, staff, and students to collect real-world examples

  • Co-wrote and scripted embedded video content to enhance authenticity and learner engagement

  • Integrated knowledge checks, reflective prompts, and practice tools throughout the course

Practical, Self-Paced Learning

  • Designed the experience for independent, flexible learning at each faculty member’s pace

  • Included downloadable templates, planning tools, and classroom strategies for immediate use
